Nandamuri Kalyanram, known for picking unique scripts, is working on an exciting film called Devil. This film is set in the 1940s and is about a fierce protagonist who’s a British Secret Agent.

What’s remarkable is that they’ve built more than 80 big sets for this movie. Almost 90% of the film was shot on these sets, and it took one and a half years to create them. The art director, Gandhi, explained that making sets for a period drama like this was quite challenging.

They had to gather materials and props from various places like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kolkata, Kerala, and Rajasthan. Without the support of producer Abhishek Nama, creating these lavish sets wouldn’t have been possible. Here are some of the impressive sets they’ve built:

1. A 1940s Andhra club set in Madras.
2. They used a whopping nine truckloads of wood for construction.
3. They included ten vintage bicycles and one vintage car from the British era.
4. They collected 500 books with royal British-style covers.
5. They created a massive 1940 cargo ship set and a tall 36-foot lighthouse set near the Vizag seashore at Thotlakunda.
6. They used over one thousand tonnes of iron and fiber, along with ten thousand square feet of vintage wallpapers.

Directed by Naveen Medaram, the period spy thriller featured Samyuktha as the female lead.
The story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film were provided by Srikanth Vissa, with Harshavardhan Rameshwar scoring the music. The movie is confirmed to release in theaters on November 24, 2023.
