Dhurandhar 2 is giving stiff competition to Searchlight’s Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, the much awaited Hollywood sequel starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood and others.
As per Deadline, Ready or Not 2 minted $3.8 million on Friday, whereas Dhurandhar 2 followed closely with around $3 million. However, the real surprise is unfolding over the weekend, as the Bollywood sequel is showing stronger momentum.
Trade estimates suggest that Dhurandhar 2 is likely to end its opening weekend at around $9.5 to $9.6 million in the U.S., slightly ahead of Ready or Not 2, which is tracking near the $9 million mark.
In a market largely dominated by Hollywood films, Dhurandhar 2 holding its ground and even edging ahead is a notable feat. On the domestic front too, the film is expected to witness solid growth, with Sunday numbers likely to further boost its overall collections.
