Taapsee, Bhumi Pednekar’s latest film Saand Ki Aankh has been one of the most talked about films in recent times. The film is based on the real life story of Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, two sharpshooters who earned the nickname as Revolver Dadis. The two elderly women went on to become role models for several young women to take up sharp shooting as a competitive sport.

Although the two actresses promoted the film in a big way, since it was slated for release for Diwali, it couldn’t get ample number of screens at the box office. In Hindi, it faced stiff competition from Housefull 4 and in South, Bigil and Khaidi took away bulk of the screens, even in multiplexes. The film has so far collected Rs 6.3 crores nett at the box office.

Taapsee, on the other hand, is confident that the film will continue to do well because of its positive word of mouth. In fact, she hoped that the screen count will increase in the next few days and more people will get to watch the film all over the country. “One of the reasons why I did the film was because this could, in a way, help you understand that your mother or grandma could have unfulfilled dreams. Perhaps, after watching the film, it would inspire more people, especially women, to pursue their dreams,” Taapsee said.
