Taapsee is going to play the lead role in yet another hard-hitting film in Hindi. The actress revealed that she’s going to team up with Anubhav Sinha, who won rave reviews for his work in Mulk and Article 15, for this upcoming film, which has been titled as ‘Thappad’.
In a recent interview, the actress revealed, “It’s a very hard hitting subject that we haven’t spoken about before in cinema. I play a married woman and the movie will showcase the several woes that she goes through.” It remains to be seen if the film deals with domestic violence or if there’s something more to the story in this project. Taapsee even stated that she has been waiting for a long time to play the lead role in this film and that she’s thrilled that Anubhav Sinha came onboard to direct it.
More details about rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon. The film is slated for release on March 8, 2020.
