Kollywood hero Simbu’s upcoming sci-fi political action drama, Maanaadu, is gearing up for its theatrical release on November 25. The film’s pre-release event was held last night in Chennai. During his speech, Simbu left everyone in shock by turning emotional and breaking into tears. In fact, at one point, the film’s director Venkat Prabhu and Simbu’s good friend and actor Mahat had to comfort Simbu on stage as he was choking up during his speech.

Without mentioning any names, Simbu said that certain people are causing him troubles. “I’ve been facing a lot of problems. But I will handle all of them. You just take care of me,” an emotional Simbu urged his fans. Needless to say, videos and photos of Simbu’s speech went viral within minutes and the actor was showered with love by his fans.

Over the last one decade, Simbu has been courting numerous controversies concerning both his personal and professional lives. The Tamil Film Producers’ Council had even issued a ‘red card’ to Simbu due to his non-cooperating nature.

Simbu was also ousted from Maanaadu by Maanaadu’s producer Suresh Kamatchi, who had held Simbu responsible for the delay in the commencement of the project. In a retort, Simbu even announced a film titled Maghaa Maanadu with his father T Rajendhar. But the project never materialized. Later, Simbu sorted out his differences and joined Maanaadu.
