Tamil Producers take bold and crucial steps to reshape industry

The Tamil Film Producers Council has taken two important decisions to improve the way films are made and released in the industry.

As per the report from Variety, the council announced that medium to big-budget films will follow a revenue-sharing model between producers and actors.

This means stars will take a share in profits instead of high upfront fees. The move is expected to reduce financial pressure on producers.

Secondly, while theatre associations demanded an eight-week gap, the council has decided to continue with the existing 28-day window before films release on OTT platforms.
