The ongoing “MeToo” movement is slowly but surely changing the face of several industries. In recent times, several media houses and stand-up comedy community vowed to address issues of sexual harassment and assault in a much more aggressive manner. And film industries across the country too have been speaking up in favour of the movement.

The latest news is that the Telugu film industry has set up a panel to address such cases without any bias. On Sunday, nearly 40 women from various filmmaking departments met at Annapurna Studios to discuss the way forward. In the end, some key members decided to set up a panel which would hear complaints from women and bring justice to the victims.

Samantha, who has been extremely vocal about MeToo movement, urged women in film industry to come forward and share their experiences, so that going forward, it can create a safe workspace for women in film industry. It remains to be seen how this panel is going to make a strong mark in near future. Several other actors including Kajal Aggarwal and Navdeep too extended their support to these proactive measures taken up within the film industry.
