While theatres in Tamil Nadu were on the verge of a temporary shutdown, Radhika Sarathkumar’s Thaai Kizhavi offered the exhibition sector a huge sigh of relief. The film grossed over Rs. 50 crores at the worldwide box office and emerged as the biggest Tamil hit of 2026 in terms of distributor profits.
With the film completing two weeks of its theatrical run, the focus has now shifted to its OTT premiere. Jio Hotstar bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights, and Thaai Kizhavi is expected to make its digital debut in the last week of March 2026, probably around March 26. An official confirmation is awaited.
Directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, the film also stars Raichal Rabecca, Athadi Kumaran, Singampuli, and Munishkanth in key roles. The music is composed by Nivas K. Prasanna. Star hero Sivakarthikeyan produced this comedy drama.
