Thalaivar 173: What went wrong? Two possible reasons for the director’s change

The director issue continues for Superstar Rajinikanth’s Thalaivar 173. Initially, Sundar C came on board, but he later exited the project. He was replaced by Cibi Chakravarthy, who is no longer directing the film.

As per the latest chatter in Kollywood circles, there are two reasons behind this development. According to one version, Cibi was earlier supposed to work with Nani, but the project didn’t materialize for unknown reasons. The producer of that film reportedly spent a significant amount on pre-production and is now said to be seeking a partnership in Thalaivar 173. However, Raaj Kamal Films International is reportedly not in favor of the proposal.

Another version suggests that Rajinikanth asked for changes in the script, wanting it to be more intense like Dhurandhar, as the story revolves around a spy. However, Cibi is said to have designed the script in a lighter, more entertaining vein and was not keen on altering it.

Whatever the reason may be, Cibi is no longer directing the biggie, and the latest reports suggest that Ashwath Marimuthu might helm the project. Let’s see who will finally wield the megaphone for Thalaivar 173.
