Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, is off to an impressive start at the box office. In its first weekend, the film collected over Rs. 60 crores gross globally. The strong hold on Monday suggests that Thandel will breach into the 100 crore club by this week.
Thandel is doing pretty well in the Nizam region. On its third day, the romantic action entertainer raked in a distributor share of Rs. 3.15 crores. The movie is going from strength to strength with each passing day in Telangana, and according to trade pundits, Thandel is expected to collect Rs. 15 crores share (or thereabouts) in its lifetime.
The movie, based on the lives of fishermen from Matchilesam, is produced by Bunny Vas and presented by Allu Aravind under the Geetha Arts banner. Aadukalam Naren, Jabardasth Mahesh, Prakash Belwadi, Karunakaran, and Divya Pillai played crucial roles. Devi Sri Prasad composed the tunes.
