Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s highly anticipated seaside love saga, Thandel, is gearing up for its grand theatrical release on February 7. The chartbuster songs and the neatly packaged theatrical trailer have generated a solid pre-release buzz for the movie.
It was recently reported that Thandel’s OTT rights have been acquired by the streaming giant Netflix for a massive price. In a latest promotional interview, the film’s director, Chandoo Mondeti, revealed that Thandel was made with a budget of close to Rs 90 crores and that the movie has recovered Rs 65 crore from the OTT deal. Chandoo went on to reveal that Thandel will be available for streaming on Netflix 50 days after its theatrical release. This means that Thandel will have its digital premiere sometime in the last week of March.
Thandel is inspired by real-life incidents that took place in 2018. The movie explores themes like separation and patriotism. Chay will be seen as a fisherman named Raju from a Srikakulam village. Produced by Bunny Vas under Allu Aravind’s presentation, Thandel features a soulful soundtrack composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
