Director Mohan Raja has revealed an interesting detail about his Tamil blockbuster Thani Oruvan. He shared that the film was originally written with Prabhas in mind for the lead role.

However, due to various reasons, the project did not materialise with the star. Later, Jayam Ravi joined the project as the protagonist.

At the same time, Aravind Swamy was cast as the powerful antagonist, a combination that went on to create a massive success in Tamil cinema.

Thani Oruvan received wide acclaim for its gripping narrative and strong performances. The film was later remade in Telugu as Dhruva, with Ram Charan playing the lead, and it too turned out to be a super hit.
