Christopher Nolan’s epic fantasy action drama The Odyssey, based on the Greek epic Odyssey, opened to solid reviews in India as well. The initial word of mouth is on the positive side.
According to the trade estimates, The Odyssey collected around Rs. 17.5 – Rs. 18 crore nett in India on its first day, making it the biggest opener for Nolan by surpassing his previous blockbuster Oppenheimer, which opened to around Rs. 14.5 crore nett.
What makes this opening even more impressive is that The Odyssey isn’t a franchise film, and the numbers are driven purely by Nolan’s magnanimous following in India. The movie is set for a good weekend at the ticket windows.
