Nani’s much-anticipated The Paradise has completed its first weekend at the box office, with the film recording a worldwide gross of Rs. 155 crore, according to the makers. Directed by Srikanth Odela on a massive scale, the film opened to mixed reactions, with the response largely leaning towards the negative side.
Sunday contributed Rs. 19 crore to the film’s worldwide gross, making it the lowest-grossing day of the opening weekend. Despite the mixed word of mouth, The Paradise has managed to put up a notable first-weekend total.
Meanwhile, the film has crossed the $2 million mark in North America, adding another milestone to its overseas run. With the weekend now behind it, the focus shifts to the weekdays, and Monday is being watched closely by the trade. The film’s hold from here will be crucial in determining how well it can sustain its momentum.
Produced by SLV Cinemas on a grand scale, the pan-Indian feature stars Kayadu Lohar, Mohan Babu, Sonali Kulkarni, Raghav Juyal and others in key roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music.
