Action movie fans have a huge reason to head back to the cinemas this week. Just days before the highly anticipated release of Dhurandhar The Revenge, Jio Studios and B62 Studios are bringing the original Dhurandhar back to the big screen.
Starting today, March 12, the original spy-thriller Dhurandhar is heading back to the big screen. The studios are rolling the film out across 250 screens in India, with another 250 screens opening overseas tomorrow. North America alone is getting a massive footprint of nearly 185 screens. It’s a rare, highly calculated move that gives fans the chance to experience the first chapter in theatres right before Dhurandhar The Revenge takes over next week.
The strategy makes total sense. Following a trailer that set the internet buzzing, the sequel is officially locked in for a worldwide release on March 19, 2026. Giving audiences a chance to watch both films back-to-back in a cinema is a quick way to build massive momentum.
North American Box Office Heat
While the global launch happens next Thursday, fans in the US and Canada are getting an early look. The makers have lined up special mid-week premiere shows for The Revenge on March 18.
These aren’t just standard screenings, either. The premieres are largely taking over Premium Large Format (PLF) theaters—meaning massive wall-to-wall screens, luxury seating, and heavy-hitting Dolby Atmos audio. Unsurprisingly, tickets for these Wednesday shows are already selling out fast, putting the movie in the same release league as major Hollywood event films.
Director Aditya Dhar is back at the helm for the sequel, promising a serious upgrade in scale and action. The new film will drop in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. With the release landing right around Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and just ahead of Eid, the stage is perfectly set for a massive holiday box office run.
