Who would have thought that the records set by the highly anticipated Malayalam action film L2:Empuraan would be surpassed in just a month? Mollywood legend Mohanlal did the unthinkable by delivering two back-to-back biggest blockbusters.
His latest outing, Thudarum, is now the highest-grossing film in Kerala, overtaking Empuraan. Until now, the movie earned Rs. 83 crores gross in God’s own country, and the distributor share is around Rs. 36 crores. The movie will soon script history as it is set to become the first Rs. 100 crore grosser in Kerala.
At the age of 64, Lalettan is once again proving that he is the undisputed emperor of Mollywood. He has delivered industry hits for five consecutive decades, displaying his unparalleled box office stamina. The movie crossed $10 million at the overseas box office, and it is the second Malayalam film to achieve this feat after Empuraan.
No more records left. Just one name: Mohanlal.
