Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and director Vivek Athreya have locked Thulabharam as the title for their upcoming crime comedy. The team skipped the usual boring first-look poster and instead dropped a fun video featuring the entire cast.
The promo is getting good traction online, mainly because everyone on screen seems to be having a blast. The video shows the actors arguing in a room over what to call the movie, with everyone pitching their own favorite genres and wild titles.
After plenty of back-and-forth, they finally agree on Thulabharam, calling it a story that balances crime, laughs, romance, and emotion. The clip also gives Ravi Teja a new tag, calling him “Crime Maharaja,” which fits Athreya’s lighthearted style.
Along the way, the video reveals several character names from the ensemble. Anil Karella plays Jadeja, Ravi Anthony is Robin, Tharun Bhascker plays Devaraj, and JD Chakravarthy appears as Shivaji Rao. Priyanka Mohan and Anaswara Rajan play Krishna Veni and Sound. Ravi Teja’s character name is the only one kept under wraps.
Produced by Bridge Productions, the film heads to regular shoot on October 17, with Vivek Sagar composing the tunes and Theni Eswar handling the camera. More details about Thulabharam will be unveiled soon.
