Tollywood to not resume shootings until Telangana govt’s fresh guidelines?

Recently, after a couple of rounds of meetings with Tollywood bigwigs, the Telangana government gave permission to resume film shootings. The government also prescribed some tough guidelines for the safety of the actors and technicians on sets.

However, it looks like most film units are not ready to resume shootings because of these guidelines which are both cost-inducing and infeasible. Senior producer and Nithiin’s father Sudhakar Reddy told a popular English daily that movie units require at least 80 to 150 crew members on sets, but the government has set an impossible limit of just 45 members.

Sudhakar Reddy also said that the mandatory presence of a doctor on sets, apart from the safety kits, masks and gloves, sanitizers and hand wash, will be an additional expense to the producers. In this scenario, the senior filmmaker feels it’s better to wait until the government comes up with fresh guidelines.
