Two big films lead IIFA Utsavam nominations

The nominations for the different languages have been announced for the first edition of IIFA Utsavam, which will focus on the southern film industries. In the Telugu section, Baahubali has bagged 14 nominations followed by Srimanthudu with 11.

S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali has been nominated in 14 categories including best picture, leading role — female (Tamannaah), leading role — male (Prabhas), lyrics (K. Shiva Dutta), music (M.M. Keeravani), negative role (Rana Daggubati), supporting role — female (Ramya Krishna) and supporting role — male (Satyaraj). The film has also scored triple nominations for playback singer — female (Satya Yamini, Geetha Madhuri and Damini) and double nominations for playback singer — male (Revanth and Deepu).

The Mahesh Babu starrer Srimanthudu has been nominated in 11 categories like best picture, leading role — female (Shruti Haasan), leading role — male (Mahesh Babu), lyrics (Ramajogayya Sastry, music direction (Devi Sri Prasad), negative role (Sampath), playback singer — male (Sastry Sagar), supporting role — female (Thulasi) and supporting role — male (Jagapati Babu).

It really is a proud moment to see Telugu movies leading the nominations. Allu Sirish has been chosen to host the Telugu segment of the awards this year. IIFA Utsavam Awards Ceremony is going to be held on the 5th and 6th of December at Gachibowli stadium, Hyderabad.
