With the monumental success of the Kantara franchise, Rishab Shetty drew the attention of audiences across the country. His lineup is now filled with big-scale films, and one among them is The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. According to an exclusive report in Variety India, the film will be made into a two-part saga, with a mind-boggling budget of over Rs. 500 crores.
It is said that the makers have expanded the vision of the project and that the first part will hit the big screens in 2028, followed by the sequel in 2029. A significant portion of the film will reportedly be shot in Maharashtra, where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj established his kingdom and many defining moments of his journey unfolded.
The shooting is expected to commence once Rishab Shetty completes Jai Hanuman with Prashanth Varma, says the report. Sandeep Singh is the director of The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film will have a multi-lingual release.
