Kollywood top hero Thalapathy Vijay’s new film Jana Nayagan continues to face problems as the movie is yet to secure a clearance from the Censor Board. The biggie is said to be facing unexpected struggles for its OTT deal due to the postponement.
According to a report on Asianet News, the uncertainty around the release has begun to worry stakeholders, including the OTT partner. It is said that Prime Video, which has purchased the digital rights of the film, is planning to sue KVN Productions.
Reportedly, the delay is affecting the scheduled streaming window of Prime Video, and hence, the platform is said to be considering legal action against the producer. The report mentioned, “The OTT platform is uneasy about the lack of a confirmed release date, as the film’s certification issues have now stretched longer than expected, creating complications around contractual obligations tied to the digital premiere.”
