Upasana Kamineni Konidela has taken on the role of Director – Projects at Apollo Hospitals. She will work with Apollo’s leadership, clinical teams and project partners on the planning and delivery of hospital projects across India.
Her priorities will include new facilities, expansions and upgrades to existing hospitals, along with consistent design standards across patient spaces. She will focus on clear signage and wayfinding, easier navigation, efficient clinical spaces and a more comfortable experience for patients and their families. She will also support project processes, reporting and coordination from design through opening.
Apollo’s current expansion plan has an estimated total project cost of approximately Rs. 8,600 crore, including approximately Rs. 1,565 crore for listed brownfield expansion projects at existing facilities. The programme combines capacity expansion in established markets with new facilities in growing urban centres. Published plans identify projects across Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru, along with Lucknow, Varanasi, Indore, Guwahati and Ranchi, among other locations. The specific projects and budgets under Upasana’s mandate will be confirmed by Apollo.
The expansion is aimed at making advanced care easier to access and use. Hospitals across these locations will support patients beyond individual visits while creating opportunities for doctors, nurses and other skilled healthcare professionals. Apollo will continue to connect hospital care with prevention and early diagnosis, helping more people take charge of their health. The company aims to combine accessible and affordable care with clinical excellence and strengthen India’s position as a trusted healthcare destination.
