SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is steadily progressing towards its scheduled release on April 7, 2027. While production is in full swing, a fresh update has surfaced regarding Priyanka’s Telugu dubbing.
According to Variety India, producer KL Narayana said the team has not taken a decision on Priyanka’s Telugu dubbing. He reportedly revealed that she currently delivers her Telugu portions using a mix of English, Hindi, and Telugu during filming. Since the film is being planned as a multilingual release, the dubbing decision will be made only during the later stages of production.
Priyanka had shared during an Instagram Live session in 2025 that she was learning Telugu and hoped to dub for her role herself. Whether that materialises remains to be seen.
For now, the Rajamouli directorial is progressing on schedule, with MM Keeravaani expected to begin work on the background score from September ahead of the film’s planned April 7, 2027 release.
