For the past couple of days, 2-film-old Venkatesh Maha has been subjected to intense trolling for his insensitive language and criticism of commercial potboilers and KGF in particular in a recent director’s roundtable. Netizens have been blasting Venkatesh Maha and his fellow directors who laughed in approval of his statements.

Yesterday, directors Nandini Reddy and Vivek Athreya, who were also part of the director’s roundtable and trolled vehemently, took to their social media and apologized to movie lovers for hurting their sentiments. Even Venkatesh Maha had released a video last night and apologized for his language. However, Venkatesh Maha said he will not take back his opinion.

This morning, the C/o Kancharapalem director took to Twitter once again and posted a note. He said there’s a lot of discussion happened in that panel and the 2 mins netizens are watching is a clip out of the context. He went on to say that he is sad to see his fellow filmmakers getting trolled. “I don’t want any one of them to take a hit for my opinion. They are some of the most respected directors in Telugu film Industry, and I humbly request you all to protect that,” (sic) Venkatesh Maha tweeted.
