Tamil actor Vishal stated that he is going to adopt Kaarkavaiyal, a cyclone-affected village in Thanjavur district, and take complete responsibility for its future. The villagers had suffered a lot due to Cyclone Gaja, which wrecked havoc in several parts of Tamil Nadu earlier this month.
The actor, who has been actively taking part in the relief operations, also added that he will turn it into a model village, which will inspire several others to follow their footsteps.
Apart from Vishal, several other actors like Karthi, Simbu, Arun Vijay have been working towards creating awareness about the extent of damage caused by the cyclone. Already, Suriya-Karthi’s family, Lyca Productions, and several others contributed generously to the CM Relief Fund. It remains to be seen if any other celebrities from the film fraternity take a cue from Vishal and adopt other villages in the state.
