Vishwak Sen’s Laila is set for a grand theatrical release on February 14, 2025. Directed by Ram Narayan and produced by Sahu Garipati, the film stars Akanksha Sharma as the female lead.

The movie has landed in controversy after veteran actor ’30 Years Industry’ Prudhvi made sarcastic remarks involving a political party. Offended by his comments, supporters of the party started the ‘Boycott Laila’ trend on social media. In response, Vishwak Sen and producer Sahu Garipati addressed the media to clarify their stance.

Producer Sahu Garipati expressed his shock over the controversy, saying, “We were unaware of the ‘Boycott Laila’ trend until we saw it on social media. This did not happen under our notice. We request everyone to watch the film as just a film, as we have no control over what guests say at our events.”

A visibly emotional Vishwak Sen added, “I sincerely apologize for what happened. But if one person makes a mistake, does that mean the entire team should be blamed? We had no idea about Prudhvi’s comments, and they have nothing to do with the film. Should a movie’s fate be questioned just because of a few social media tweets? He spoke while we were outside welcoming Chiranjeevi Garu, and it was beyond our control. We worked very hard on this film, and I am ending this discussion here. Please don’t hold us responsible for something we had no part in.”

Even before this controversy, Laila had been making headlines since its trailer release, with some viewers finding certain aspects awkward. It remains to be seen how things unfold leading up to the film’s release.
