Legendary cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan’s biopic, 800: The Movie, is set to grace the big screens on October 6, 2023. Madhur Mittal, renowned for his role in Slumdog Millionaire, takes on the lead role in this film, directed by MS Sripathy.

The team recently organised a press conference in Hyderabad, where veteran cricketers VVS Laxman and Muttiah Muralitharan graced the event as chief guests.

During the conference, VVS Laxman praised Muralitharan, stating, “Muralitharan’s achievements on the field are not just inspiring, but his entire life serves as an inspiration. From his childhood to retirement, he continues to inspire. Muralitharan also plays the role of a mentor for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. I’ve had the privilege of playing cricket with him, both as his teammate and his opponent, and I’ve personally known him.

While everyone recognises Muralitharan as a great cricketer, he’s an even greater human being. He serves as a role model for the youth, and to me, he’s more than a brother; I feel fortunate to have a friend like him. Cricket isn’t just a game for Muralitharan; it’s his life.”

800: The Movie is produced by Vivek Rangachari of Train Motion Pictures and distributed by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. The biopic is accompanied by a captivating musical score composed by Ghibran.
