Satya Dev’s psychological thriller Rao Bahadur, directed by Venkatesh Maha, is coming to cinemas on July 3. The actor has started promotions, and in a recent interview, he was asked if the film would be limited only to critical acclaim. The journalist noted how Mahesh Babu’s One: Nenokkadine fell short at the box office despite being a great film. Satya Dev responded to concerns surrounding Rao Bahadur’s box office prospects, given its genre.
The actor said, “Audiences have evolved a lot over the years. Post-COVID, they have been consuming world content and have been regularly watching films from other languages. They should like the content. People are not familiar with certain terms. Our audiences are watching more Malayalam films lately. We don’t have any barriers right now. All we have to do is deliver a movie that can captivate them and hold their attention.”
Satya Dev added, “The most important thing is that we need to give them an experience. If that happens, movies will become a hit. We shouldn’t have a pre-determined notion that they won’t watch a certain kind of films. Telugu audiences are super-intelligent. First, we should make different films.”
