Sardar 2 is the sequel to the 2022 hit film Sardar. Headlined by Karthi and directed by PS Mithran, the film will open in cinemas in a few hours, but the advance bookings have been disappointing, to say the least.

Generally, for a hit film’s sequel, the bookings should be strong, but the situation is quite contrasting in the case of Sardar 2. The all-India advances are below the Rs. 3 crore mark, with Tamil Nadu lagging behind heavily.

What makes this trend more concerning is that the film was made on a whopping budget of over Rs. 100 crores, and the movie needs to really perform well to get over the line. If the word-of-mouth isn’t positive, then it will be an uphill task to recover the investment.
