Ashish Gandhi’s new movie, Haddhu Ledhuraa, hit the big screens today. Read the review to find out how it fares.
Story:
Arjun (Ashish Gandhi) and Krishna (Ashok) have been best friends since childhood. Arjun is always ready to go to any lengths to help Krishna. One day, Krishna finds himself in trouble, requiring Arjun’s intervention to save him. What is the problem? Does Arjun manage to rescue Krishna? The movie unfolds the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
Ashish Gandhi shines in the role of Arjun, portraying a caring friend convincingly. His performance and appearance are commendable, suggesting potential for future mass roles.
Ashok delivers an okay performance in his role. Despite having minimal screen time, Rajiv Kanakala and Thanikella Bharani entertain in the scenes they appear in.
Minus Points:
The story is quite familiar and predictable. Despite a promising start, the movie very quickly loses its momentum. While the central idea is acceptable, the director could have focused more on engaging narration.
Heroines Varsha Vishwanath and Hrithika Srinivas add little to the plot, with their presence limited to a few scenes.
Many scenes suffer from poor lip-sync, attributed to the director’s negligence in overseeing the final output. Additionally, Ashok’s performance lacks depth in scenes requiring emotional expression, with his neutral gazes and expressionless dialogues serving as drawbacks.
Rajiv Kanakala’s character could have been introduced earlier to add more dramatic tension. The director fails to fully utilize the talents of veteran actor Thanikella Bharani.
Technical Aspects:
Director Rajashekkar Raavi fails to execute the story effectively and also pens poor dialogue. The songs composed by Kamal Kumar D (late) are passable, but Abinizer Paul’s background score fails to elevate crucial scenes. Editor Gowtham Raj Nerusu could have trimmed unnecessary portions from both halves. Cinematography is just okay. Production values are subpar.
Verdict:
On the whole, Haddhu Ledhuraa is a subpar action drama with a routine story and lackluster screenplay. Apart from Ashish Gandhi’s performance to some extent, the film has nothing much to engage its viewers. Check out alternative entertainment options this weekend.
