Following the tremendous success of Ma Oori Polimera, which was originally released on OTT, the director now presents the sequel, Ma Oori Polimera 2, on the big screen. The film has arrived with enormous expectations. Delve into our review to determine whether the film lives up to the hype.

Story:

Jangaiah (Baladitya) sets out to find his missing brother, Komuraiah (Satyam Rajesh). Meanwhile, the new SI, Ravindra Naik (Rakendu Mouli), arrives in Jasthipalli to uncover the village’s death mysteries. At the same time, a group from the Department of Archaeology expresses interest in accessing an abandoned village temple. Where is Komuraiah? What secrets does the temple hold? Did Jangaiah succeed in finding his brother? Is there a connection between Komuraiah and the temple? The movie will reveal the answers to these mysteries.

Plus Points:

The interesting aspect is that director Anil Vishwanath does a fine job crafting the script, focusing on the characters and their connections. He narrates them, making it convincing.

Satyam Rajesh’s portrayal of Komuraiah is commendable. For the most part, he is silent and relies on his expressions but ultimately delivers a decent performance.

Sri Kamakshi Bhaskarla’s pivotal role in the film shines in the second hour. Her performance is simple and subtle. Getup Srinu, Rakendu Mouli, and the rest of the cast give their best to engage the audience.

The second half is packed with unexpected twists and turns, keeping the audience hooked. Also, the music helps the film big time.

Minus Points:

In the second installment, the director introduces the temple mystery but doesn’t delve into it deeply. A more intriguing story around the mysterious temple would have been more captivating. Instead, the director mainly focuses on establishing connections between past events and current happenings.

The story is okay, but an engaging screenplay in the first half could have enhanced the film’s appeal.

Rakendu Mouli doesn’t seem to be the best fit for the role, and the director could have chosen a more prominent actor to add to the film’s appeal.

The film contains several scary scenes that may not resonate with many audiences, especially families.

Technical Aspects:

The director’s vision is to create a franchise, which is why not everything is resolved in this sequel. While the intention is good, a strong story and racy screenplay to keep the audience engaged are necessary.

Gyaani delivers outstanding work in the music department, intensifying many scenes in both halves. Specifically, the scene where snakes surround the lead in the temple stands out.

Cinematography plays a significant role in this kind of movie. Unfortunately, Kushedar Ramesh Reddy’s work is not that satisfactory. After a while, the frequent flashbacks may make the audience feel disconnected. Trimming some of these moments might have improved the overall experience. Production values are of high quality.

Verdict:

On the whole, Ma Oori Polimera 2 offers decent thrills. Satyam Rajesh’s performance, the twists in the second half, and the solid score are the highlights. On the downside, the slow-paced first half, excessive flashback scenes, and the inclusion of too many scary scenes are the drawbacks. If you have watched Ma Oori Polimera 1, you may find this sequel more interesting. For thriller enthusiasts, this movie is worth watching this weekend.
