Crime thriller series, Gaalivaana, featuring Sai Kumar, Radhika Sarathkumar and others is out on the ZEE5 platform. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Newlywed couple Ajay (Charith) and Geetha (Nikitha Shree) are the children of Saraswathi (Radhika Sarathkumar) and Komarraju (Sai Kumar), respectively. Someone kills the youngsters and the murders disturb their respective families. Unfortunately, the killer arrives at their families’ doorsteps. What did the families do to the killer? What is the killer’s motto behind the murders? To know the answers you need to watch Gaalivaana.

Plus Points:

The ZEE5’s original series, Gaalivaana, is an official Telugu remake of the BBC’s mini-series, One Of Us. The crime thriller has a good story, which makes you eager to know what happens next. Performances of Sai Kumar, Radhika Sarathkumar, Chandini Chowdhary, Sharanya Pradeep and Chaitanya Krishna need a special appreciation. The actors make the story more intriguing with their excellent acting skills.

Dialogues are fine and the narrative is also good. It looks like that the director has a good idea of making scenes look engaging.

Minus Points:

Though the plot is good, Gaalivaana ends up as an average series because of the reason behind the killings. The series could have been a super hit if the reason is strong and convincing. On the other hand, the screenplay in a couple of episodes could have been better to make the series an intense thriller.

Gaalivaana has so many good characters but Nandini Rai, who plays the investigating officer, fails to attract the viewers. Her story is not much convincing. Also, Surya Shriniwaas’s character is not necessary to the story. It looks like that the director writes a few characters just to prolong the story. If the director should have written a few more scenes related to Chaitanya and Sharanya, the plot could have been less laggy and thrilling.

Technical Aspects:

The director needs to be appreciated for writing a good story and designing characters. The cinematography by Sujatha Siddharth is excellent and one can witness the beauty of East Godavari in several frames. Music by Gowra Hari is decent but it also could have been better. Editing by Santhosh Kamireddy is okay and there is a lot to trim.

Verdict:

On the whole, Gaalivaana is a decent crime thriller that offers stellar performances by Sai Kumar, Radhika Sarathkumar and a couple of other actors. Some scenes in a couple of episodes make you press the forward button. Especially, the climax portion could have been written well to make the series a great thriller. Barring the above said points, you can give this thriller a shot this weekend.
