Ram Charan’s upcoming film Thoofan, which is also simultaneously being made in Hindi as Zanjeer, is on track for its release this summer. For the past few days, there were rumours that the film’s release might be postponed due to Supreme Court’s order to imprison Sanjay Dutt for holding arms illegally back in 1993. Many feared that since Sanjay Dutt hadn’t completed his portion in Zanjeer, the film will be in big trouble. However, director Apoorva Lakhia had recently confirmed that Sanjay Dutt had promised that he’ll fulfill his commitments before surrendering himself and honouring his commitment, apparently, Sanjay Dutt has been shooting non-stop for Zanjeer for the past few days. “On set with The Sanjay Dutt, what a man, shooting like a king, setting yet another example on how to fight diversity by never giving in,” Apoorva Lakhia posted on Twitter.
Ram Charan, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Prakash Raj are playing the lead roles in Zanjeer, whereas Sri Hari will reprise Sanjay Dutt’s role in the Telugu version which has been titled as Thoofan. The producers are yet to zero upon a date this summer since they are planning to release both Zanjeer and Thoofan on the same date.
