Comedians Dhanraj and Tagubothu Ramesh, are two names who have become pretty famous off late. They have moved one step ahead, and have come up as heroes in the comedy entertainer AK Rao PK Rao. This film has hit the screens today, and let’s see how it is.

Story:-

AK Rao and PK Rao(Dhanraj & Ramesh) are two innocent brothers, who make their living by selling sarees in Amalapuram. They lead a happy life with their younger sister and fiancees.

Twist in the tales comes when when yet another saree seller, Krishna Bhagawan makes a plan and lands the two brothers in jail. After a brief period of time, AK Rao and PK Rao return as two strong individuals, and take revenge on Krsihna Bhagawan.

During their return, they help the entire village, and even take on the mighty Dawood(Raghu Babu) a dreaded don in Dubai. Rest of the story is as to how these innocent brothers come back as two strong individuals ? What happened to them in the jail ? How will they fight against Dawood ?

For all these answers, you need to watch this film on the big screen.

Plus Points:-

The major plus point of the film are both Tagubothu Ramesh and Dhanraj. Though the rest of the film leaves a lot to be desired, both these actors put in an decent effort, and carry the film on their shoulders.

They have danced and emoted quite well. Some one liners and satirical jokes by Krishna Bhagawan have been executed well. First fifteen minutes of the film is neat and clean. Both the female leads have performed well.

Minus Points:-

If the director would have added comedy angle to the lead characters, the output would have been something else. Ten minutes after the interval, the entire movie loses the plot and goes wayward.

As said earlier, both the heroes are the assets of the film, but sadly they fail to entertain in comedy, which is their strong area. Instead, they sing duets and do fights, which looks a bit odd.

The entire second half is filled with some over the top scenes and sequences. M S Narayana’s comedy tract is absolutely rubbish and could have been totally avoided.

Hema, Vennela Kishore are wasted in their roles. Songs cause a huge hindrance to the flow of the film and could have also been avoided. Raghu Babu looks silly as the Dubai don.

Technical Aspects:-

Music of the film is decent, and so are the lyrics. Dialogues written are apt, and suit the village nativity. Screenplay of the film lacks focus during the second half. Many unnecessary scenes and songs spoil the flow of the film.

Another major drawback of the film is the weak direction. Kotapati Sreenu tries too hard to make things work. Rather than focusing on simple comedy featuring Ramesh and Dhnaraj, he makes them larger than life and tries to send a message which looks amateurish.

Verdict:-

On the whole, AK PK Rao is one film which has many things going wrong for it. This film might find a few takers because of the popularity of Dhanraj and Ramesh, but in total, Ak Rao P K Rao has nothing funny about it.
