Review : Its My Love Story – The soul is missing in this story

Madhura Sreedhar, the director who made the critically acclaimed Sneha Geetham, is back with his second project. The movie is ‘Its My Love Story’ and the film has Aravind Krishna and Nikitha Narayan as the hero and heroine. The movie has released today all over the state, so let us see how it fares.

Story :

Arjun (Aravind Krishna ) is a successful game developer in Hyderabad. A chance encounter leads to a friendship with Vandana ( Nikitha Narayan ),an aspiring fashion designer who has moved to Hyderabad from Visakhapatnam. A series of incidents force Vandana to movie into Arjun’s house and love soon blossoms between the two.

Nikitha’s parents (Jayasudha and Sarath Babu) come to know about this and the oppose the proposal. The rest of the story is about whether Arjun is successful in convincing Nikitha’s parents to win her hand.

Plus Points :

Aravind Krishna looks good in his role. Nikitha is ok. Sarath Babu and Jayasudha deliver some pretty good performances and they show their class.Kalpika does a good job as Nikitha’s cousin. Thagubothu Ramesh has got a pretty decent character with good screen time. He manages to bring some laughs.

Pragathi and Kasi Vishwanath are ok as Aravind Krishna’s parents.

The songs in the movie are shot well.

Minus Points:

The movie has a wafer thin story line and in such cases, an entertaining and gripping screenplay is a must. Sadly, it is nowhere to be found. Narration goes for a toss as the movie proceeds along at a very slow pace. The slow pace can really test the patience sometimes.

Aravind Krishna looks ok but his acting skills are quite bad. Same is the case with Nikitha.

RJ Ghajini’s comedy is over the top. Vennela Kishore was wasted in the role of ‘Sujatha’. Some of the comedy scenes succeed in irritating the audience more than in entertaining them.

Technical Departments :

Dialogues are a major weakness for the movie. Sharper and better dialogues would have really elevated the movie. Cinematography is patchy. It is good in some areas and not so good in others. Sunil Kashyap’s music is good and makes the songs look good on screen.

Editing is ok.

Verdict :

‘Its My Love Story’ is one of those movies which fails to connect even though nothing is technically very wrong with the movie. The narration lacks soul and a haphazard screenplay lets the film down badly. Better dialogues and a faster pace would have made the movie much better. Overall, Its My Love Story disappoints the viewers.
