The crime drama S. Saraswathi, directed and headlined by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, hit theatres on Friday. The film generated some curiosity as it marked Varalaxmi’s directorial debut in Telugu cinema.
However, the response from audiences and critics has been mixed so far. While a few appreciated the concept and Varalaxmi’s intense performance, the overall reviews have been average.
This has also reflected in the box office collections, which have not been very encouraging during the first two days. With today being Sunday, it is considered the final opportunity for the film to gain some momentum at the box office.
Once the weekdays begin, theatre occupancy is expected to drop further, making it difficult for the film to improve its run. Stay tuned for more.
