God of Masses, Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, is all set to hit the screens on 12th January. The movie is carrying excellent hype all over. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Shruthi Haasan plays the female lead. Kannada star actor Duniya Vijay who played the main antagonist in the movie, interacted with the media today, and here is the transcript.

How did your journey start with Veera Simha Reddy?

Director Gopichand Malineni explained my character, which instantly thrilled me. It is a great achievement to act beside Balakrishna Garu. The antagonist’s character will be like a main pillar in the film. I am lucky enough to work in such a good role in Balakrishna Garu’s film.

Did you ask the director why he chose you for this specific role?

I asked him. Gopichand Garu is a brilliant director. He saw some of my works. Gopichand Garu felt I would be apt for the antagonist role. So I would consider this opportunity as my luck, and my fortune is good.

How will be your look in the movie?

It will be very wild. There would be an immense difference when you see me on screen. My character is named Musalimadugu Prathap Reddy in Veera Simha Reddy.

How was your chemistry with Balakrishna Garu?

Balakrishna Garu is a person with great values. I have grown up watching his films. So acting beside him is something that I can’t put into words. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him for the first time in the sets.

Fights in Balakrishna Garu’s film will be powerful. How will the fights be in Veera Simha Reddy?

They will be very powerful. The energy will be on a higher level, and the audience will feel it inside the theaters. I can’t forget working with Balakrishna Garu. He has a lot of energy and is very dedicated to working. I felt him to be a god while watching him both off and on screen.

You are basically a director. To what extent the direction skills can help in acting?

Acting and direction are two separate things. A director has to extract the best out of actors. While I am an artist, my job is to deliver what is expected of me. So I won’t think about direction while I am acting. Instead, I focus on what my director demands from my role.

Can you tell us about your future projects?

I am currently working on a project named Bheema. I am approached by a few filmmakers in Telugu too. If the character is strong enough, I am ready to act.
