Mohanakrishna Indragnti has been making very sensible films in the recent past. He is back with his latest film Sammohanam which is ready for a release next Friday. On this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.
How has the film shaped up?
The film has turned out very good and I am very happy with how things have shaped up. I am very excited to see how the audience is going to react to this film.
What is the film all about?
The film is about a man who hates the film world. How is life changes when he falls in love with a famous actress and what problems do they go through in their journey.
Have you showcased the film industry in a bad light?
No!. I have shown what happens in the industry and how things work. I have shown both bad and good and did not take any sides. People will get to see a different perspective about the industry in an interesting manner.
How was it working with Sudheer Babu?
You will see a complete new Sudheer Babu in this film. I was shocked how good an actor Sudheer was while working in this film. He will go a long way in his career and Sammohanam will be a game changer for him.
What made you choose Aditi Rao Hydari for this film?
I wanted a star heroine who couldn’t speak the language and should be very famous in Telugu. Aditi Rao fit the bill perfectly and she has done a great job in her role which is quite crucial to the film.
About your next projects?
I am yet to write my next film. As the scripts of three of my last films were ready, I made them back to back. But things are different this time around as I am yet to think of a line about my new film.
What is your take on recent films that have been coming out in Telugu?
I think Telugu cinema is in a good space. The audience has matured a lot but the filmmakers are way behind the trend. Luckily, things are changing now and very soon you get to see some great films in Telugu.
