Aadikeshava, starring Panja Vaisshnav Tej and Sreeleela, is ready to hit big screens today. Ahead of the release, we met with the director Srikanth N Reddy, for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.
Tell us about Aadikeshava
Aadikeshava is a commercial entertainer that guarantees entertainment from the first frame to the last. Viewers who have seen the film appreciated the emotional depth in the climax. I believe it will be a satisfying experience for audiences, delivering what a commercial entertainer expects.
Why did you choose Aadikeshava as your debut film?
Initially, I planned to make an experimental action movie, but friends advised against it for my debut. So, I decided on a commercial film. I also had another idea for a small-budget comedy, but when I shared it with producer Benny, he suggested pitching Aadikeshava to producer Naga Vamsi. Fortunately, he liked the story, and that’s how the project kicked off.
How did you end up working with Sithara Entertainments?
Benny recommended that I narrate the story to producer Naga Vamsi. After meeting him, he liked the concept and urged me to start working on the screenplay. It was through this collaboration that Vaisshnav Tej’s name came up for the lead role.
How did the casting of Vaisshnav Tej and Sreeleela come about?
Vaisshnav Tej was my choice for the lead as the screenplay developed, but I wondered if he would take on a high-budget debutant film. When Naga Vamsi suggested him, I was confident to approach him. He took his time but never doubted the story. Naga Vamsi suggested Sreeleela, and trusting his judgment, we finalized her before the release of Dhamaka.
How was it working with Vaisshnav Tej?
Vaisshnav Tej is a hard worker and passionately dedicated to his craft. Despite being a debutant director, I had to make tough decisions, and he never questioned them, always emphasizing the final output. His cooperation made it easy to work with other senior artists. I believe audiences will connect with his character in the film.
How was your experience with Sithara Entertainments?
Naga Vamsi’s calm and supportive approach made my debut experience smooth. He never bothered me with budgetary concerns, allowing me to concentrate on the creative aspects. I appreciate his calming presence and value the experience for a lifetime.
