Post the second wave, Ishq is the first film that will be out in theatres. On this occasion, we spoke to hero Teja Sajja about the film. Here is the transcript.
Why attracted you to Ishq?
The film has a very unconventional theme and that attracted me a lot. When you think, this is going to happen, something else takes place and keeps the audience on its toes. That suspense was thrilling to watch in the original.
What changes were made from the original?
The length of the film decreased in the remake and we packed the film with crisp elements. I loved the emotions in the film and that is the reason, we did not play with the theme much.
Tell us about your role in Ishq?
I play a simple happy-go-lucky youth who takes a different approach towards his issues. The entire film is based on my performance and I feel once the film is out, everyone will speak about my performance. I have worked hard and am happy that such a challenging role came to me at such an early stage in my career.
Working with RB Chowdary banner?
They are making a Telugu film after six years and they, choosing me for this remake is so special and shows that they have faith in me. They are in this industry for a long time and have managed the release and promotions so well.
What made you choose a big-screen release at such a time?
I feel that bigger films are more at risk. For a film like Ishq, it is the perfect time to release. There is not much competition and also the theatre availability is more. Once there is a good talk for the film, it will work wonders.
Working with Priya Prakash Varrier?
She is very cool and does not have any air or take her popularity so seriously. She comes to the sets, does her part, and leaves back home. She has done so well in the film.
As of now, my entire concentration is on my next film Hanu Man. We have also wrapped up 15 days of the shoot and it has shaped up so well. I have pinned a lot of hopes on this film which will take me to the next level I feel.
