DC Studios’ Supergirl has turned out to be a major box office disaster. Released in theaters on June 26, 2026, the Milly Alcock starrer was made on a massive budget of around $170 million, excluding marketing costs. Following its disastrous theatrical run, the superhero film is now estimated to lose Warner Bros. more than $100 million.
Following the film’s box office disaster, the makers have officially announced its Premium Video on Demand (PVOD) release. Supergirl will be available for digital rental and purchase from July 28, 2026, on Apple TV, Prime Video, Fandango at Home (Vudu), and Google Play, arriving just 32 days after its theatrical debut.
The film also stars Jason Momoa, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, and others in key roles. It was directed by Craig Gillespie, while James Gunn and Peter Safran served as producers.
