The theatrical-to-OTT window has been shrinking steadily in South Indian cinema, and the trend has started to worry stakeholders across Tollywood and other film industries in the region.

Reports indicate that representatives from various South Indian film chambers are likely to meet in Bengaluru on Wednesday to discuss the possibility of implementing an 8-week OTT window.

Earlier, a meeting was held at the Telugu Film Chamber to deliberate on whether a 6-week or 8-week gap should be maintained between theatrical and digital releases.

With another round of discussions expected soon, the industry’s key stakeholders are expected to take a call on the matter. It remains to be seen what decision will be taken and how it might influence theatrical releases in the coming days.
