Kollywood actor Vishal surprised everyone by taking up the directorial responsibility for his new film, Magudam, also known as Makutam. Ravi Arasu was initially roped in as the director, but he is no longer helming the project. In a recent interview, Vishal opened up about the development.
“Magudam is not supposed to be directed by me. There was negativity, and I had to push it away. So, I took the responsibility. I revamped the entire screenplay. I still gave credit to Ravi Arasu for the story and paid him the remuneration. I am the 45th debut director to be introduced under Super Good Films. I am fine-tuning every scene, so this is my best directorial debut. I cannot say that my second film will be the best,” said Vishal
The film also features Dushara Vijayan, Anjali, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music. Makutam is slated to hit the big screens in July 2026, with the exact release date to be announced soon.
