For Sikandar, AR Murugadoss associated with Bollywood megastar Salman Khan for the first time. However, the film turned out to be a box office bomb. Later, the director worked with Kollywood actor Sivakarthikeyan on the action thriller Madharaasi. Though the film received better reports than Sikandar, it failed to succeed at the box office.
Fresh buzz suggests that AR Murugadoss is planning to join hands with Tamil star Simbu a.k.a Silambarasan for a commercial entertainer. It is said that discussions are currently underway between the actor and the director. At present, Simbu is working on his biggest project, Arasan, directed by Vetrimaaran.
The film, which belongs to the Vada Chennai universe, is surrounded by massive hype. After wrapping up Arasan, Simbu is set to start working on his new film with Aswath Marimuthu, the director of Oh My Kadavule and Dragon. While AR Murugadoss is undoubtedly a talented filmmaker, his recent films have not impressed audiences. In this scenario, it remains to be seen whether Simbu will go ahead with the collaboration.
