Superstar Rajinikanth is creating box-office records even in his 70s. His latest money spinner, Jailer 2, has gone bonkers at the ticket windows and grossed over Rs. 700 crore, the highest ever for a Tamil movie. The film has now achieved another milestone.
Jailer 2 became the only Tamil movie to sell 1 crore tickets on BookMyShow in just 12 days, setting an unprecedented record. However, reaching the Rs. 1,000 crore gross mark looks quite difficult, despite the film initially being seen as a potential contender. Still, Jailer 2 has added several records to its name.
Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, Yogi Babu, Hrithik Roshan, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah and Namo Narayana play significant roles. Sun Pictures produced this biggie, with Anirudh composing the music.
