Bollywood war-action film Border, directed by J. P. Dutta, is widely regarded as a cult classic. The movie also achieved massive commercial success. Set during the India–Pakistan war of 1971, the iconic film starred Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. The Border sequel, titled Border 2, is set to grace cinemas on January 23, 2026.
The second installment stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahaan Shetty in the lead roles. The movie was initially trolled after its teaser launch due to poor VFX. Also, Varun Dhawan became the target for memers, but the ground reality tells a different picture.
The tables turned with the fantastic recreation of the popular track Ghar Kab Aaoge, which significantly boosted the hype among movie buffs. Border’s brand value, Sunny Deol’s massive craze among the masses, and the blockbuster song gave a strong push to Border 2.
As a result, Border 2 is now set for a massive opening in India as well as international markets. Trade experts believe the film is set for a Rs. 35 crore nett opening in India, and this number could go higher if the reports are positive. After Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is once again set to create a box office rage. Border 2 also stars Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, and Ananya Singh in supporting roles.
