Star Tamil actor Ajith Kumar’s latest movie Thunivu, released for Pongal 2023, made its OTT debut on Netflix last Wednesday. Directed by H Vinoth, the movie scored a massive hit at the box office and is continuing its rage on OTT space also.
The latest info is the movie created a terrific record on Netflix. According to the latest statistics released by the OTT giant, Thunivu is the only Indian movie that got two spots in the first 5 places in the global Top 10 list of Non-English movies (Feb 6-12).
Thunivu’s Tamil and Hindi versions made it to the global charts and settled in 3rd and 4th positions, respectively. Netflix users streamed the Tamil version for 4.05 million hours and the Hindi version for 3.73 million hours last week globally.
This is the rare OTT feat ever created by an Indian movie on Netflix. On the other hand, Thunivu is also ruling the Netflix India charts. In India, Thunivu’s Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions settled in 1st, 2nd and 4th places, respectively. The film is expected to create more records in the coming days.
