Balakrishna’s much-awaited action drama Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Sreenu, has finally hit the big screens after navigating several hurdles. The film had paid premieres on Thursday night, which opened to packed houses across most centres.
According to the makers, Akhanda 2 has grossed an impressive Rs. 59.5 crore on day 1 (including Rs. 10 crore from paid premieres), making it the biggest opener of Balakrishna’s career, surpassing Daaku Maharaaj. The film witnessed strong occupancies during the evening and night shows, and the producers are confident that the film will post good numbers over the weekend.
Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, the film features Samyukta, Aadi Pinishetty, and Harshaali Malhotra in key roles. SS Thaman has composed the music.
