Balakrishna’s highly anticipated Akhanda 2 will hit the big screens tomorrow with paid premieres. The film marks the fourth collaboration between Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu after Simha, Legend, and Akhanda. Aadi Pinishetty, Samyukta, and Harshaali Malhotra play key roles. According to a report in OTTPlay, Akhanda 2 has locked a one-of-a-kind deal with Netflix.
The report mentioned, “Lately, OTT platforms have been making structured deals based on the hero’s market and the performance of his previous films at the box office. Netflix locked a deal with Akhanda 2 makers that allows the digital platform to deduct 25% from the promised amount if the film flops. If the movie succeeds, the OTT platform will pay more than 25% of the agreed amount.”
If this news turns out to be true, it will put more pressure on the filmmakers to deliver quality content, and this is indeed a blessing in disguise for the audiences. Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta produced Akhanda 2 under the banner of 14 Reels Plus. SS Thaman composed the tunes.
