Akshay Kumar has confirmed that his much-talked-about film Gorkha has been shelved. The project, which was earlier announced with director Aanand L. Rai, will no longer move forward due to budget-related constraints.
Akshay revealed this development during the promotions of his upcoming film Bhoot Bangla, putting an end to ongoing speculation around the project.
Gorkha had generated significant interest when it was first announced, as it was based on the life of a brave Indian Army officer and promised to be a large-scale, patriotic drama.
However, mounting production costs seem to have forced the makers to drop the film altogether. This decision reflects the growing challenges of mounting high-budget films in the current market scenario.
